Writing a book is actually the easiest part of the process and getting them published may challenge one’s patience and finance. But today when authors give up hopes of ever being picked by a traditional publisher, they turn to self-publishing.

Authors who have made it big in the industry have chosen to self-publish at some point in their careers: Ernest Hemmingway, Stephen King, Margaret Atwood, Rudyard Kipling, Carl Sandburg, and James Redfield just to name a few, and one can see how they all fared in the industry.

Now, assuming you have a brilliant idea and love writing - if you're working steadily .. you might have a manuscript in a matter of months.
At this step while you're writing the book, a good thing is to build your audience, by creating a blog, a website, starting a youtube video and post some updates, and last but not least starting to appear on social media such as Facebook, Googleplus, diaspora* or tumblr ... all these efforts will pay afterward.
